Objectives

  1. Describe the origins, clade, and potential theories of the emergence of Candida auris.

  2. Explain how Candida auris thrives and survives in healthcare and community settings.

  3. Discuss the role that acid mantel plays in cell reproduction and creating the first line of defense against pathogens.

  4. Explain how low acidic pH inhibits the growth and biofilm production of Candida auris.
